ABOUT

OUR MISSION

The North Carolina Foundation for Public School Children is the education lifeline and safety net that offers hope, dignity, and opportunity to our state’s most underserved public school students by providing for needs that local, state, and federal governments do not. Working directly through public school personnel, our mission is carried out through three initiatives.

CHILDREN’S FUND: Every day children struggle in school because they lack something as basic as a pair of eyeglasses, hearing aids, appropriate clothing, supplies, and more. NCFPSC responds and provides for needs that directly impact a student’s day-to-day school experience when no other resources are available, so the child can be in school, equipped for success, and focus on learning.

DISASTER RELIEF FUND: NCFPSC provides for academic needs and supplies to students, teachers and schools throughout public school systems that are directly affected by natural disasters so schools are equipped to continue educating students while waiting for assessments from insurance, federal, state, and local governments.

NC TEACHER CADET: Now for more than 20 years, NCFPSC has developed homegrown future teachers through the NC Teacher Cadet Program. Built upon a rigorous curriculum for high school students, written by North Carolina public school teachers, specific to the North Carolina public school system, the program also develops future education leaders and advocates with a long-time focus on recruiting Male and Students of Color to begin their journey through the teacher pipeline.

The North Carolina Foundation for Public School Children is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Federal ID number: 56-1957977.
