The Honorable Bev Perdue served as the 73rd Governor of North Carolina from 2009 to 2013, and previously served on the North Carolina House of Representatives and as North Carolina Lieutenant Governor. More recently, Perdue was named Chair of the National Assessment Governing Board. Education has been a one of Perdue’s leading issues throughout her career, once telling The 74 “I believe in every little boy and girl, and nothing makes me angrier to see us sit back and see kids who are disadvantaged fail.”
This year, the North Carolina Foundation for Public School Children is honored to name The Honorable Bev Perdue as a Champion for Children.
